Assignment 1
As the first assignment, we start off easy by creating patterns in 2D before turning them 3D.
Patterns

I chose these six interior spaces to analyse, as they caught my eye for being fancy and complex. I ended up choosing the last one to make a model out of.
Mockup 1
Our main objective was to explore. Explore how the space can be warped with different sticks, and play around with the special patterns we had.
We had to try and ensure our models had a different profile line (outline) from all four main angles, and I think I executed this quite well.

Mockup 2
For the second mockup, we had to add planes to the spaces. We learnt about spaces and voids, and how to utilise them to make a space feel smaller/ larger or narrower/ wider.

Final model
Lastly, the final model. I remade it from scratch using my second mockup as a reference.

There was a point in the model where the board I was using couldn't bend as intended, so I changed the design by adding another plane and making a geometrical space instead.

Reflection
This first assignment was a good introduction to the module, as it introduced what I should expect for the other assignments and what lied ahead in the rest of the semester. I learnt how to produce ideas and create spaces with experimentation. In this assignment, I managed to utilise TGC 3: Thinking and problem solving skills.
