Assignment 3
For our third and final assignment, we had to choose three different words from three different categories. Then, like in the first assignment, we picked apart those words as much as possible and gave it as many different meanings as we could think of. Then, like the second assignment, we overlapped them and decided which meanings we wanted to use to create one single prompt. Using that prompt, we created three prototypes of artwork before making a final piece. A work of art that is special to us and completely unique, that no one else can make because everyone's brains work differently. That is the outcome and overall lesson of CCTS.
My three chosen prompts:

After experience with the first assignment, this was much easier to do and only took a short while. Within two weeks, this was all finalised and the slides were ready to be finished.

This part of the assignment was fun because I enjoyed diving into different parts of my past to dissect that prompt. 'Soft' was also interesting, as the advice teachers had given us was to think about tangible and intangible things, so there was a lot of points to draw from it.
Combining the prompts and making a storyline:

Combining the prompts was enjoyable as well. After brainstorming the prompts I was easily able to come up with a combination I liked, and so the prompt was actually thought up before I even finished the slides for the first task. I tried to come up with a concept that means something to me, so the artwork would not only be easier to draft but also more meaningful, therefore (hopefully) having a bigger impact.
Making and comparing the prototypes:

I really enjoy making digital art through collages. Though it was a little tough finding the assets I needed to pull off the ideas I had, after I got them all it was a breeze. I quite like how the prototypes turned out and decided to incorporate aspects from all three for my final artwork. I managed to finish one prototype per week as well, so I wasn't behind schedule much if at all for this assignment.
The final artwork:

Finally, it was time to create the final artwork. Since I already had all the assets and the general idea of what I wanted, not to mention prototypes that I could copy and paste from, making this was easy, quick, yet still fun. I am happy that I managed to create something meaningful and something that fit the prompt well.
'A bubble bath to stay warm from the cold rain outside.'
Reflection
If there's anything I love doing, it's telling stories, so hearing that this assignment would be based on the concept of telling a story with art, my interest was pricked. As I started on the tasks, I gradually became more and more into it. Doing the assignment was a little tedious, as most homework tends to be, but it quickly became clear to me that this was my favourite assignment from the module. Editing has been a joy to me for years, so being able to use those skills for a school project was a nice experience.
